This liming wax will give a dramatic effect when used to fill in open grained timbers such as oak or ash. For greater contrast in grain pattern, stain or color the wood first, then apply the wax. Before applying the wax, open the grain first by brushing or blowing dust out of the pores. Apply the wax with a pad of steel wool and fill the grain completely. After the liming wax has dried a few minutes, finish by waxing with Black Bison paste wax. Briwax® Original Paste Wax is the first choice among British woodturners such as Ray Key. The beeswax and carnauba base is blended together with traditional solvents to produce a quick drying finish. It is recommended that turnings be coated with a sanding sealer to seal the wood. The surface is then cut back with 0000 steel wool and clear Briwax. Directions- Apply liberally using a soft cloth. Rub into the wood grain. Let sit for 10-20 minutes. Buff off excess wax with a soft cloth or buffing wheel. Reapply as needed.

Waterlox® Original Sealer & Finish is a versatile tung-oil-base finish which is an excellent finish for all types of woodwork and is used as the only finish by some of the finest turners in America. A favorite finish among Australian woodturners, U Beaut® Shellawax Friction Polish is a shellac-based friction polish that creates a water-proof, high gloss finish in seconds. Shellawax Polish can be used on all types of woodturnings as well as on wood carvings and furniture. This finish is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying. Designed for removing scratches from plastics, Craftics® 20/20 Plasti-Polish is used with 0000 steel wool or a flannel cloth to obtain a low sheen or satin finish on plastics. A small amount is applied with a soft cloth while the lathe is running. It is striking when used on plastic turnings which have been grooved or decorated with a chatter tool. The white polish will stay in the grooves and create a contrasting pattern.
U Beaut® EEE-Ultra Shine Paste Wax is designed for use as a sealing/polishing agent prior to applying friction polish. EEE-Ultra Shine contains ultra fine abrasives that polish the wood surface creating an ideal base for friction polish.
