Designed by Mike Jackofsky, the precision made Hollow-Pro Caliper combines steel and aluminum for maximum strength while maintaining a comfortable light working weight and is designed to indicate the wall thickness of hollow forms, vessels, bowls and platters by transferring the measurement from one end of the caliper to the other. The extended reach design and easy to see indicator makes it extremely versatile and accurate helping you achieve a perfect uniform thickness. *Steel and aluminum construction for maximum strength and durability *Measure hollow forms, vessels, bowls and more *Large caliper measures hollow forms up to 18" in dia. and 11-3/4" deep *Small caliper measures measures hollow forms up to 8" in diameter and 6-1/4" deep *Made in USA
The Turners Select™ Inside/Outside Caliper acts as both an inside caliper and outside caliper. The caliper transfers the measurement to the opposite end of the caliper in either application making it easy to check your work. All steel construction. Reaches up to 5-1/2".
Knowing the wall thickness at all times is crucial to successful woodturning. The Versa-Cal™ Multi Caliper is a multi-functional tool that allows you to check the wall thickness of almost any type of woodturning regardless of shape.
One end is designed for measuring open bowls along with enclosed forms while the other is ideal for measuring deep vases and similar forms. Handy finger cut-outs allow for one hand operation while the powder coat finish help you maintain a positive grip at all times. Unlike conventional double-ended calipers, the Versa-Cal features an offset point design that allows you to reconfigure the caliper for additional measuring options by rotating one section of the caliper 180 degrees.
Available in 7" (17" overall) and 10" (23" overall), the Versa-Cal™ Multi Caliper is the only caliper you need.
Made in USA. Patent pending.
Robert Sorby® Specialty Calipers are specifically designed to allow you to measure the wall thickness of hollow and reverse curve forms. As you measure with the open end, the measurement is transferred to the opposite end, indicating the thickness. Size indicates the distance that the caliper will reach into the workpiece.

Designed to measure the wall thickness of bowls up to 20" in diameter, the Tompkins™ Gage'T Thickness Gauge is also ideal for checking platters too. The Gage'T frame is made from durable glass-filled nylon and features a spring-loaded measuring rod with etched thickness scale (1/16" increments) and non-marring brass contact points. The distance between the exterior brass ball and caliper indicates the thickness. *Gage'T has a 9" reach and can measure up to 1-5/16" thick. *Color may vary
Quickly mark the center of the workpiece with the Precision Machine™ Center Marker. It is often necessary to know the exact center point on the base of a bowl, particularly when the bowl will be put on a vacuum chuck and the bottom turned to final shape, sanded and finished. If the exact center is marked, the tailstock can be moved up and the cone center put in the indented center point on the base. This will center the bowl accurately.
The center marker collar is designed to fit inside the threads on a chuck or faceplate. The center point slides through the collar and will contact the base of the bowl. When the center point is tapped, the cone point will leave a small indentation marking the true center of the base. This will allow the precise centering of the bowl on a vacuum chuck.
The Apprentice™ Zero Center Finder gives exact center of round, square, hexagon, and octagon stock for lathe turning or other purposes. This is a must for those who mark centers frequently. *No calculations needed *No moving parts *High precision *Max. 8" round, square and octagon *Max. 5-3/4" hexagon *Instructions included
The Turners Select™ Protractor/Depth Gague is indispensable for setting bevels on tools, measuring and transferring angles and checking the depth of boxes and other small items. The graduated arm and protractor feature etched numbers on a hard chrome finish that will last a lifetime. Protractor- 1 degree readings up 180 degrees. Graduated arm reads in 1/32" inch increments and will measure up to 6".
The Apprentice™ Center Punch is a simple device that has long been used for making a small dimple in metal and other hard materials, prior to drilling to prevent the bit from wandering. This handy, inexpensive tool is ideal for woodturning as it can be used to mark screw locations and center points on spindle stock for easy locating of the drive or tailstock center. The knurled surface makes it easy to hold the punch firmly in place while applying sufficient pressure to cause the center point to strike a dimple in the work. Measures 5" long by 5/8" diameter.
*Pressure applied dimple strike *Knurled surface for firm grip *Hardened tip for use w/ hard materials
The Craft Supplies USA® Layout Template is useful for laying out bowls or platters. The circular lines eliminate trial and error in selecting for figure or color in the wood, and avoiding defects. The layout template will help the turner find the desired or possible size in a minimum of time. The clear plastic allows one to visually identify choice areas of the stock, speeding up the selection process, and often conserving material. Made from 1/16" flexible plastic with permanent numbers and lines, one only needs to insert a nail through the center hole, a pencil in the diameter hole, and pivot the layout template around the center point to mark the cutting lines. Made in USA.
The iGaging Digital Protractor measures inside and outside angles on miter gauges, table saws, band saws, and other workshop equipment. With the large digital readout of the protractor, accurately setting up and cutting bowl segments is a breeze. *Stainless Steel construction *Simple operation *Large, easy to read display *8" and 10" blades feature mm, 1/16", 1/32", and 1/64" scales *Measures inside and outside angles *Strong lock and convenient hold function *Accuracy: ±0.02 degree *Range: 0 to 360 degrees *Battery Included
Marcus Reid is professional woodturner and furniture-maker based locally in Provo, Utah. Originally only doing flat work, he had the good fortune just after he graduated from high school to begin a full-time apprenticeship with master furniture-maker Chris Gochnour in Salt Lake City. This led several years later to working in another small high-end custom furniture shop in Utah where he soon discovered, out of necessity, an aptitude for production spindle turning. He spent several years there as the shop's production turner before opening his own shop, still doing custom production work as well as artistic turning and furniture. He has been a demonstrator at the Utah Woodturning Symposium as well as for woodturning clubs in Utah.
