Replacement Cutter for the Crown Negative Rake Shear Scraper.
In order to achieve the best possible results, it’s essential that the cutter have a burr on the cutting edge because the burr does the cutting. When the burr is gone, the cutter is dull and should be sharpened to create a fresh burr edge. This can be done with the cutter still mounted on the tool by sharpening the cutter on a grinder or honing the edge of the cutter by hand using a CBN or diamond hone. When there is a burr on the edge of the cutter, you’re ready to go.
The Crown Negative Rake Shear Scraper combines the unique advantages of a negative rake scraper and the ability to create fine shearing cuts into a single, user-friendly tool that’s economical and versatile.
The Crown Negative Rake Shear Scraper features an adjustable cryogenically treated high-speed steel cutter mounted on a sturdy 5/8" diameter round shaft at a negative rake angle. The round tool shank makes rolling the tool side to side when making shearing cuts smooth and effortless. It can also be used to make standard scraping cuts by holding the tool in a traditional scraping position.
Regardless of the type of cut, the Crown Negative Rake Shear Scraper helps you remove small tool marks and achieve a silky smooth surface with little or no tear-out on dense materials, exotic woods, and end grain areas too.
Instructions included.
*Fully adjustable cutter system
*Cryogenically treated high-speed steel cutter

The Low Profile Spindle Gouge by Carter and Son Toolworks is a superb tool made from M42 high speed steel for optimum edge holding ability and it’s ability to be sharpened to a keen edge.

And, because the cutting edge is below the center of the tool, tool control is improved and shavings clear faster while cutting.

The 1" Negative Rake Scraper by Carter and Son Toolworks is a superb scraping tool made from M42 high speed steel for optimum edge holding ability and its ability to be sharpened to a keen edge.
Negative rake scrapers are superior to traditional scrapers because of their ability to produce a clean finishing cut on end-grain, hard and high-figured woods as well as stabilized wood and plastics. The negative rake angle on the Negative Rake Scraper by Carter and Son makes it non-aggressive and easy to control when making heavy or light cuts without the risk of a catch which is common when using standard scrapers.

Few tools in the shop can save you time and money like the Kelton® Standard McNaughton Center Saver System. Instead of peeling away 90% of a bowl blank into useless shavings, you can create several bowls from a single blank. In fact, a 16" x 6" thick bowl blank can yield four or more bowls depending on your experience and skill level. Bowl coring reduces the cost per bowl and the cored bowls take less time to turn and finish. Bowl coring is great for the environment as it maximizes yield and reduces waste.
Unlike other fixed position bowl coring systems that cut predetermined shapes, the McNaughton Center Saver System lets you vary the shape, thickness, and diameter of cored bowls via the newly redesigned articulating tool support post.
*Designed to core bowls 15" in diameter and smaller
Includes:
3 curved blades
Mark 8 tool support assembly with 1" dia. post
10" handle
