The project is based on an eleventh century bowl that was recently discovered at a Viking settlement in Dublin which is now in the National Museum of Ireland. In this video, Glenn takes you step-by-step through the process of turning the Viking bowl's elegant shape. The same valuable techniques used in making this bowl can be applied to turning the shape of any bowl. Also included, a short film "Early Morning Project".

Beyond my expectations . . .

Comments On Jul 23, 2018:I am a Glenn Lucas fan for many reasons and this video is simply a must have for anyone at any level. The level of detail, technique discussion and application into this unique piece was beyond anything I expected. This will be in the library for many years as I can see already that as I become a better turner, I will continue to take away elements of knowledge from this video. Well done Glenn, absolutely phenomenal.
