On a side note: Hats off to Craft Supplies. Had a problem with my order due to an error on my part, but Craft responded quickly and helped me out. I like working with companies that provide such outstanding customer service.

Comments On Mar 01, 2016:I have a few Ellsworth PM gouges and a Vari-Grind jig but this is the easiest jig to use - but only once it is set up properly.
If you take the time to make sure that you have the correct offset (height and distance) then repeat ability is a given. I made a small jig with UHMW plastic for my vari-grind and it works very well
Also, this is solid and has survived numerous drops and also being dinged against my CBN wheel :-)

FYI. I use my Raptor 40 degree to set the pocket on my Wolverine Arm. It seems to produce the correct Ellsworth-recommended angle.

Comments On Oct 31, 2012:I carefully set this upon my Wolverine jig - took an extra 5 minutes to add an inverted triangular little wooden block to get to the right height. Watched the Ellsworth video, covered the edge of my Ellsworth gouge with black felt pen, gently ran it over the wheel - and all the black was gone, replaced by a new surface. Wow, I am an expert !
