Harvested from ancient bogs in Eastern Europe, this bog oak lay deep in oxygen starved waters since the dawn of man. An abundance of tannic acid and minerals in the water causes the bog oak to take on a rich brown to deep black coloring. Radio-carbon dated to be approximately 5,600 years old, Bog Oak is considered by many to be the rarest wood on earth.

Stabilized Blanks
Stabilizing creates dimensional stability within the wood so it doesn’t change shape due to heat or humidity. It also improves the turnability and finishing qualities of the wood while making it harder and moisture resistant. That’s what makes these Bog Oak blanks perfect for pens.
