    with Mike Mahoney
Make something of special value which can be handed down from one generation to another. Mike Mahoney, one of America’s foremost woodturners, discusses his approach to turning bowls, plates, and canisters. Processes include harvesting the wood, rough turning and drying, sanding, hand threading, and finishing. Also included is using the Kelton Center Saver, using a vacuum chuck, tool design, and grinding. This video will inspire your own unique creativity.

Well made dvd, but value uncertain

Comments On Oct 06, 2015:Mike is clearly a skilled and experienced woodturner and this DVD is well made, with good audio and clear visual recording. In the video, he shows how he makes several classically Mike Mahoney items. And that's worth seeing. I was disappointed that there was not more to learn about what goes into making a treasured heirloom, however. He addresses the subject in his comments, but the bottom line is not a lot more complicated than 'if you make something nice people will treasure it." Seeing Mike demonstrate his skills is always worthwhile, but I'm not sure this particular DVD is unique or adds a lot to what may be gained from one of his demos or other DVDs.
