Drill even deeper with your Colt® MaxiCut® Forstner Drill Bits using a Colt® MaxiCut® Extension Shank.

MaxiCut® Forstner bits feature a patented RotaStop® shank design that locks positively into standard drill chucks and RotaStop® extension shanks/morse taper adapters eliminating the chance of slipping while drilling. To separate the drill bit from an RotaStop extension or morse taper adapter, simply twist the bit a 1/4 turn and you’re done. It’s that easy.

      3-1/2" Extender Overall length: 5-7/8"
      6" Extender Overall length: 8-1/4"
      10-1/2" Extender Overall length: 12-3/4"

Maxi Cut® Extension Shanks are compatible only with Maxi Cut® bits.

    Not a fan

Comments On Feb 17, 2019:These extensions worked ok, but and a big BUT, there is not much stability and it moves off center easily. Also you need plyers and a wrench to pry the sections appart if you need to swich bit sizes. Feel like I waisted my money on these, planning to try out the Carter strong bore system instead....

Comments On Oct 30, 2016:This extension has a twist lock instead of the normal set screws. This way the bit is perfectly centered in the extension. That said, after using this in some heavy duty drilling on my lathe, the drill bit became stuck in the twist lock and was very difficult to remove.

Comments On Jul 26, 2016:Solid well machined piece. Added length does add some movement from torque when the bit first contacts wood. Could be some peoples drill chucks and or tailstocks are better than mine at holding solid/still
