A favorite finish among Australian woodturners, U Beaut® Shellawax Friction Polish is a shellac-based friction polish that creates a water-proof, high gloss finish in seconds. Shellawax Polish can be used on all types of woodturnings as well as on wood carvings and furniture. This finish is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying. Apply with a rag, allow to dry, then buff.

    Good glossy finish

Comments On Aug 21, 2014:This is a relatively easy finish to apply, but the secret is applying and buffing with a good quality soft paper towel, plus it is recommended to put on a coat of EEE Ultra Shine Wax on bare wood to seal the wood pores. The negatives are that it's expensive and the spout becomes easily clogged. There can be some streaking if too much is applied, therefore frequent smaller amounts work best.

Very pleased with Shellawax Friction Polish

Comments On Dec 19, 2013:I have recently purchased shellawax friction polish and have used on several pens and also pepper mills with very satisfying results. It has a beautiful finish that brings out the natural beauty of wood and accents it, and it is done with one coat. I highly recommend this product.

    Unimaginable effect.

Comments On Sep 22, 2013:The use of Shellawax Friction Polish has changed my opinion on the final coating pens. Previously, I used a multi-layer natural shellac finishing, to achieve the same effect. Now, it takes only 5 minutes and the pen looks great.
