Pen Makers Choice™ Stabilized Dyed Box Elder Burl Pen Blanks are easy to turn and finish resulting in a beautiful and durable pen blank they'll love. The burl structure will not dye uniformly, so the turning process will expose layer after layer of unique patterns and contrasting shades of the same range of colors.

Very crooked, but nice-looking and turns well.

Comments On Sep 26, 2017:The piece that I received was bowed by over 1/8" along it's length. Fortunately, I was not planning to use it for a pen. I cut it into thirds and squared off the ends to use for other projects. These stabilized pieces are a little bit trickier to turn, but they look really nice when done.
