Pen Makers Choice™ Stabilized Pen Blanks turn and finish like acrylics or plastics. The process of stabilizing has been used for years to improve the workability and durability of wood blanks such as knife handles, pens, and other materials. Resistant to water, oils, and most solvents, stabilized blanks turn very easily and can be finished to a glass-like finish without too much effort.
    Blank size: approx. 11/16" x 5"
  • Resists oil, water, and everyday wear and tear
  • Easy to turn, cuts clean
  • Ideal for achieving a glass-like finish

    Note:
Burl pen blanks may have small bark inclusions or natural defects inherent to burl woods.

Beautiful Redwood Burl

Comments On Jan 08, 2017:Redwood burl blank has swirls of light brown, rich dark brown and streaks of silver-grey. Very beautiful and turned out great with a higher-end titanium plated pen kit. Polishes up very well and looks great with a CA finish.

Excellent!

Comments On Aug 07, 2016:I've been very happy with all the pen blanks I've purchased here, and these are no exception. Beautiful wood already stabilized so it saves me the process of stabilizing them myself. Every pen I've made with Craft Supplies blanks has turned out beautiful.

Definitely the way to go.

Comments On Jul 19, 2015:I've made a number of these and absolutely everybody loves them. They sell out faster than anything else I make. They turn very easily and consistently. I prefer to finish them just like I do an acrylic: with Micro Magic and some plastic polish.

Great looking pen. Wow!

Comments On Mar 28, 2015:I just started using a lathe at my school so I won't say I know too much about it. But I made a very nice pen with this blank. I have bought a few blanks from this site and they were all in great condition.
