Comments On Oct 30, 2013:These couplers are sturdy and have plenty of threads to make sure they hold up to use. They are somewhat difficult to place in turned blanks, but I'm sure this is necessary to create stability. You don't want your cane coming apart while you're leaning on it. I used my steady rest, morse taper drill chuck in the tail stock, and turning the lathe by hand in order to get the couplers to fit into the prescribed holes. By turning the headstock one way and the tail stock the other way, both by hand I was able to screw the couplers into the blanks. It took a time or two to get the process down to a science, but it worked great!

Comments On Oct 13, 2013:I've made two hiking sticks using these sets. I'm using 4 - 18in. pieces to make one travel hiking stick. My only complaint is that it takes 1 and a half sets to make one hiking stick. I will order more.
