Ruth Niles Threaded Steel Inserts
Turning a Kitchware Project Handle
Threading Wood and Acrylics
Comments On Jan 15, 2022:Makes for great gifts and easy to make. Harder wood works best for threading and the drilled hole works best when perpendicular to the axis.

Comments On Jul 15, 2018:I created a few of these not knowing a single thing about turning. It is definitely a learning experience. That being said after showing a few pictures I was asked by a friend to make a custom one and he loves it and uses it all the time. Finally I gave a few away for Christmas and Birthday presents and they are easy to make, cheap but, still have that sentimental feeling because you made this yourself.

Comments On Aug 03, 2016:I made several of these as Father's Day gifts. Using some nice figured woods they turned out great. You can get two from a 12" blank. Easy to drill, tap and turn. I also did not need to use CA glue for final assembly.

Comments On Apr 08, 2015:I have just made 2 of these and both look fantastic! The chrome seems durable and it is a plus to have the option of unscrewing the end from the handle for cleaning. Make sure to get the mandrel for your drill chuck and use the drill tap. I found that CA glue is not necessary for assembly.
