Comments On Feb 09, 2020:I bought 2 of the large bordeaux wine glasses and 2 of the champagne glasses as those were the only 2 styles in stock. I watched the video before the pieces arrived and followed the instructions. I am glad I watched the video as it states to check the stem and find a bit that is the closest to that diameter. The instructions state to drill a 7/16" hole. The first wine glass did not require a 7/16" hole. The second glass needed a smaller hole to start, but I ended up using a 7/16" bit to enlarge the start of the hole. I did not did to the depth of the first hole. I was not able to get any of my gouges to get deep enough to smooth out the taper so ended up sanding it in. This is a relatively easy project. Most of my time was used up fitting the glass to the stem to make sure it was a good fit. Before I had the first one finished it was already sold just by a picture. The second one was sold just by a picture as well. I think I will be selling a lot of these at craft shows. I ordered 6 more of the large bordeaux glasses as again that is all that is in stock. Looking forward to all the others getting back in stock.

Comments On Jan 14, 2020:I purchased four of these for Christmas presents. I made two for my Mom and Dad and two more for my Brother and Sister-in-law. Everyone loves them. In fact, my brother does not get to use his because my Sister-in-law says they are too beautiful to be used. Go figure. lol
I turned the stems out of Mesquite I brought back from AZ. The project itself was fairly easy spindle turning. Nothing out of the ordinary required. The only issue I had was gluing the stem to the wine glass. I made these in the wintertime and my shop is not heated. It would have been much easier in a heated shop or during a warmer month. But that was a personal issue. Nothing to do with the wine glasses. I would highly recommend these to my friends and plan on purchasing more.

Comments On Aug 12, 2018:love how this finished up but was not thrilled with the stem, the video shows a nice straight portion on the stem but the ones I received were not even close to being straight, they tapered from less than 3/8' to 1/2' then flared out, this made drilling a hole for a good fit very hard, and alot of trying to skim cut the inside of the hole for the stem to fit well.
Additional Comments On Sep 08, 2018:Update on my previous review, wasn't thrilled with the product due to the taper on the stem making it hard to make fit to the stem, I made it work and was thrilled with the end result, what really changed my mind was the customer service from Craft Supplies, left a review and didn't expect any more but received a phone call from customer service, determined to make a happy customer the shipped another wine glass out to me free of charge, this is a great company to purchase from and highly recommend them.

Comments On Jul 02, 2018:Holy these things are HUGE. Like comically big. The instructions said to drill a 7/16 hole, but I found that with the large size it's better to drill a 1" hole and taper that down to 7/16 so the glass fits. That all being said, these are great. I would buy more, just a smaller size...

Comments On Jan 03, 2018:Made 1 for my sons girl friend. Now they want 10 more for the wedding party to have as a gift. Great project fairly easy to do did not use the procedure to attach the stem used the water leveling method came out dead level. Will be doing many more because everyone that that has seen them want me to make them some also. Thank you to Craft Supplies for having this great product.

Comments On Jul 26, 2016:I've purchased a lot of these of all types and found them to be of good quality; clear and with a good feel to them. You want to make sure you get a good fit between the glass and the turned stem. These have made great gifts and sell pretty well too. Not everyone has custom built stemware. I'll buy more.

Comments On Nov 20, 2015:The stemware I received was carefully packed individually and arrived in good condition. Not long after turning my first set, I received many compliments and requests for 6 sets. A perfect gift item with a fine china look. Not a difficult project if you follow the included instructions. I highly recommend the stemware for all woodturners.

Comments On Dec 24, 2013:Great instructions just be very careful I made he mistake of a great change in temperature during the final steps. The glass was cold from the outdoors during shipping and I brought it into my heated shop having the rest of the project ready. While attaching it might have been a little tight in the jam chuck but the temp change definitely caused it because the glass exploded once it had warmed up. Do be careful, all in all nice value easy and fun project makes great gifts!
