Wagner Texturing Tools in depth

Our YouTube Channel

Create eye-catching textures on spinning tops, boxes, ornaments, and other small projects with Wagner™ Texturing Tools. Diamonds, spirals, swirls and other textures will add interest and value to your work along with added enjoyment while you turn.

Joe Wagner, of Salt Lake City, designed these tools to texture his signature acorn birdhouse ornaments. The number of different textures and sprial patterns you can create with these unique tools is limited only by your imagination.

Available in 1/4" (16 tpi only) and 3/8" wheel widths in 12 or 16 tpi (teeth per inch), the 1/4" size is recommended for texturing smaller, narrower areas while the 3/8" size is ideal for larger surfaces.
  • Instructions included

  • Note: For use on flat or rounded areas only. Will not work on concave surfaces.

High quality, works great

Comments On Feb 08, 2019:Itâ??s obvious this tool is built to last. Iâ??m sure it will last many years - maybe a lifetime - as long as the wheel is properly lubed before use. Creates a wide range of patterns depending on how itâ??s held without the tearout I get from my other texturing tool, and turns a simple project into a professional looking piece of art.

Adds a nice touch to your pieces

Comments On Oct 21, 2015:I've used this texturing tool quite a bit, on everything from box lids, box lid inlays, jewelry, and spinning tops. Very easy to use, heavy, and far more reasonably priced than some of the other texturing tools. Agreed that you have to let the tool "dig" more when texturing harder woods, along with adding some more pressure, but it's amazing how many different textures the tool is capable of adding when the user plays with various angles and lathe speeds.

Wagner Texturing tool 1/4X 16tpi

Comments On Oct 24, 2013:Well made tool. I went the extra to buy the Wagner because I use on Walnut and Hard Maple. It has taken the extra pressure needed to texture this wood. Thanks Harvey

A solidly made tool that offers great designs

Comments On Oct 03, 2013:I am most impressed with the heavy/sturdy construction of this tool. Its clearly machined from a solid piece of steel, and I am confident that its built to last. I've used the tool to create several designs in kids (spinning) tops and look fwd to expanding the use of the tool to bowls and other spindle work. If I have any point to offer constructive critism, it would be that in harder woods, such as maple, the tool takes significant pressure to impart the design. Perhaps the cutting head could be more aggressive or sharper.
