General Finishes Woodturners Finish is a versatile water-based/oil finish which is excellent for a variety of woodturning projects, bowls, and platters. Once fully cured the finish is food-safe making it a great finish for salad bowls and childrens' toys. Woodturners Finish can be sprayed or applied with a lint-free cloth. Apply in thin layer and allow to dry between coats. May produce a soft sheen to high gloss based on number of coats and polishing. (Transparent)

    General Finishes Woodturners Finish

Comments On Mar 04, 2014:I bought this product becuase I liked the fact that it is both food safe, and can be applied on the lathe. It wipes on easliy, but dries to fast to get a really good finish by wiping on. I prefer to wipe on the first 2-3 coats on bowls, sand with fine sandpaper ~400-600 grit on the lathe and apply the last coat on the lathe to get a nice even coat. Afterwards I like to rub it down with 4000 grit sanding pad. Other than the few problems stated above, this is a quality finish, with the nice option of applying on the lathe and putting multiple coats on in a very short period of time.
