Details

This class is for experienced woodturners who want to "brush up" on their skills. Attendees should be proficient with commonly used tools and proper cutting techniques. Projects and tool techniques are more advanced than in the Basic Woodturning Workshop, which requires students to be proficient in basic cutting techniques. If you’re not confident with most tools and/or suffer from frequent catches with gouges and skews, we recommend attending a Basic Woodturning Workshop prior to participating in an Intermediate Woodturning Workshop.

    Topics to be covered:
  • Advanced tool techniques- variations on cutting techniques for optimum results
  • Tool sharpening- proper techniques used to create standard and custom grinds
  • Elements of design- exploring the fundamentals of form, function and design
  • Woodturning mastery- improving overall speed, technique and methods
  • Basic elements of design

  • Projects: (May vary due to time constraints)
  • Natural edge bowls
  • Unseasoned bowls
  • Inlay lidded boxes including thread cutting
  • Mallet
  • Calabash Bowl
  • Platters

  • Registration information:
Our workshop is located in beautiful Provo, Utah, just 40 minutes south of Salt Lake City.

    In the event of cancellation:
The workshop deposit is non-refundable. We reserve the right to cancel workshops up to 4 weeks prior to the class date. Full tuition and deposit will be refunded for a cancelled workshop.
