The new and improved Easy Chuck, from Easy Wood Tools, is the most innovative woodturning chuck since the introduction of the 4-jaw scroll chuck. The Easy Chuck features a revolutionary Snap-Lock jaw design that eliminates tedious jaw screws allowing you to change jaws in less than 30 seconds! With jaw changes this fast, you don't need to dedicate a chuck body for each of your most-used jaw setups. Simply insert the included hex wrench into the hole located in the jaw and press to unlock the jaw from the slide. To install, slide the jaw into the slide groove. When you hear the snap, the jaw is locked in place and ready to go!

Another Easy Wood Tools innovation is the Zoom-Ring that allows you to quickly open and close the jaws with your fingertips. Simply rotate the Zoom-Ring on the chuck body to adjust the jaws until they contact the work piece, then apply final tightening pressure with the included chuck key. The new Double-ended Wood Worm Screw provides a 1/2" diameter thread-cutting screw for turning larger blanks and a smaller 3/8" diameter screw for holding smaller blanks.

In the tradition of Easy Wood Tools, the Easy Chuck makes woodturning easier than ever and is built to last a lifetime.

Wish I'd gotten it sooner

Comments On Mar 23, 2016:I'd been using an old original SuperNova chuck and was looking for an upgrade. Wow, is this chuck nice. The quick change jaws are easy to switch out, but it's the speed ring that I'm finding I like the best. Highly recommended.

Easy Wood Tools 4 inch Easy Chuck

Comments On Sep 29, 2015:I wish I had this chuck when I started changing jaws is a breeze and very fast. In the time it took me to take the screws out of my old chuck I am now back to turning. The chuck had great holding power and the fast turn ring makes mounting larger blanks so much easier. I can think of no negative aspects to this chuck.

This chuck is a joy to use

Comments On Apr 01, 2015:Another reviewer writes that this chuck saves a lot of time, and I agree. Something else I would mention is that it encourages the use of the right set of jaws. For example, if you use the worm screw (held by small dovetail jaws) to turn a tenon on the bottom of a bowl, you might be tempted with another chuck just to leave the same jaws on for turning the inside when you reverse the bowl, even though a larger set of jaws might be more appropriate. With this chuck, I don't have to think twice, I just change the jaws to the best set for the job.
The chuck is well made, strong, and easy to adjust. It has made my wood turning better and more fun.

Excellent Chuck

Comments On Apr 02, 2015:I don't understand why some people write reviews immediately after receiving or trying a new tool. I believe in testing the tool to see if it will perform after prolonged use. I have had this chuck for a little over a year now and I can say that it is nearly bullet-proof. It performs as well today as the first day I tried it. It is built like a tank. An excellent chuck with the added benefit of tremendous ease of use. That's always an A+ for me.

Outstanding customer service

Comments On Dec 08, 2014:I bought the chuck and found out later that they had dropped the price. I called the company and they were very accommodating in making it right with me. I am always enthusiastic to buy products made in the USA, a rare experience nowadays. I also have bought their woodturning tools and have found them to be of the highest quality from handle to carbide cutter.

Changing chuck jaws is a joy, Perfect for bowls

Comments On Apr 12, 2013:The video is right, changing chuck jaws is a joy. Just push in the included release allen key and each jaw easily pops out. No need to worry about numbers and 4 or 8 screws when attaching the new jaws. Not to mention the frantic searching when you drop a screw! The T handle allen wrench allows one to really crank down on the tenon for a large bowl. Crank, rotate 180 degrees to the 2nd spot, crank - repeat until really tight.
If you do just "normal" turning where you only need the #2 or 50mm jaw then you probably don't need this chuck. If you do any turning where you need to change jaw sizes then this chuck is a no brainer. The ease of, and short time required, to change chuck jaws will quickly pay for the chuck: in sizing the tenon or dovetail to the work - instead of to the jaw you have installed; time & labor savings; and increased productivity.
I use a Kelton coring system. So I can start with a large tenon and the large jaws then quickly switch to the smaller jaw sizes for smaller tenons as the bowl sizes go down. If I make a tenon too small then switching out jaws is only a few seconds not minutes. Or if I made the dovetail on the bowl face for a larger jaw then it takes only a few seconds to switch back to the larger jaw. So I can now chuck the larger dovetail in the bowl face to turn the tenon on the just extracted blank.
I did have to create my own size chart for the various jaws so I know what size to make a tenon or dovetail.
