Comments On Jan 23, 2017:These bushings save my turning bushings and remove the risk of chipping the CA when breaking the turning bushings from the blank. There is s sight rim of CA at each end of the blank when the finish is complete. I have found that placing a piece of extra fine sandpaper flat on the lathe bed and then give a twist or two on the blank end removes this small rim of CA resulting in a perfect finish.

Comments On Mar 23, 2016:These bushings do indeed work as described--no more bushings glued to my pens that I have to separate and run the risk of damaging the glass-like CA finish. The only time I have it pool up is if I've been too generous with the CA. Since I trim to size using a sanding disc on a face plate and a properly sized transfer punch in a drill chuck held in my tail stock, trimming off any extra CA is quick and easy -- when I have to do so. Most of the time there's no need for extra trimming.

Comments On May 19, 2015:Issue with these is that, while the CA does not stick to these bushings, it pools in the small diagonal area on/between the bushing and the pen blank. This leaves a bit of CA protruding off the blank when removed from the lathe. In order for a proper fit between the blank and the fittings this requires going back to the barrel trimmer or sander to remove it. I found that spinning the barrel trimmer in the reverse direction reduces the likelihood of tearing the finish from the blank. Just wax your normal bushings.

Comments On Feb 20, 2014:I just started turning pens and had issues with the CA finish sticking to my bushings. After purchasing these, I will no longer have to worry. These bushings work great!
