- These inexpensive Apprentice™ Hook-and-Loop Backing Pads protect the disc holder by mounting between the holder and sanding disc. In the event a disc spins off the holder, the backing pad will prevent damage to the disc holder.

Hold up very well

Comments On Oct 21, 2015:The hook and loop backing of these pads is great. Holds up very well and I will certainly be purchasing more when the ones I got wear out. They take heavy abuse and keep on going. Well worth the money.

A real help

Comments On Nov 26, 2013:I use the hard pad for flat surfaces like platters and the backs of bowls. The soft backing pad works very well with bowls and open vases. Takes you from a good sander to great sander pretty quickly. Definitely one of my better buys.

Long lasting pads for power sanding.

Comments On Oct 20, 2013:What can I say?!?! I powersand a lot and I am pretty heavy handed with the drill. So I am always wearing out the velcro or the foam backing. These hook and loop pads hold up the best to my aggressive sanding. As a professional production turner and sometimes artistic turner, producing 20-30 bowls per week, I really give them a work out and these last the longest!
