Comments On Oct 06, 2012:I have been using the 1624 lathe for about 5 years and find it of excellent quality from pen size projects to bowls up to 18 inches. With the outrigger large projects can be worked. The speed range is sufficient for any project I have attempted and the speed can be changed easily in a manner of 20 seconds or so. Because of the lighter weight of the lathe, wood has to be close to being in balance or the lathe bounces around, but with a bandsaw and/or chain saw this is easy to do. Overall I am very satisfied with it's operation and quality.
