  • A top quality pen begins with precisely trimmed barrels. Trimming barrel ends prior to turning guarantees a perfect fit by eliminating unsightly gaps between parts. In addition, the pilot shaft removes excess glue from inside the pen tube that can interfere with assembly. Barrel trimmers can be used in a lathe chuck, cordless drill, or drill press. To change pilot shafts, simply loosen the allen screw in the cutter head and remove the pilot shaft. The Apprentice™ Barrel Trimmer Kit includes a 3/4" diameter cutter head and pilot shafts to fit 7mm, 'O' size, 3/8" and 10mm diameter barrels and adapter tube for trimming tubes that require an 8mm diameter hole in the blank. Supplied in a handy plastic storage case.
