I have four Precision Machine 3" screw center chucks, two of the 1 3/4" screw center chucks, and two of the (now discontinued) 4 3/4" screw center chucks. I first bought a couple of these twenty years ago, and have added more from time to time. I've found PM to produce an exceptional product and tolerance is within a few thousandths for all of them. I much prefer steel faceplates to aluminum. These will withstand use and abuse, and will last longer than you will! It is a good idea to get the replacement screw. I have modified one of my chuck center screws for a special purpose, and eventually you probably will, too.....have another one on hand. I have multiple screw center chucks, so that remounting of unfinished work is possible without the need to re-install the chuck. This insures perfect alignment on subsequent remounts.

My lathe is a little older and tired, probably needs an overhaul but with this new center I can turn pens and small items on the mandrel and they turn true--not off center. Changing blanks is now quicker so my production rate has increased too. This center was a good investment for my shop...... I have never been disappointed with anything I bought from Craft Supplies USA. Quick delivery, great customer service, quality products at a fair price.

I like to turn 12" and above Decorated Bowls and for that it has been somewhat difficult with the Vicmarc100 but this has been the case until I had the Vicmarc 120 from Craft supplies USA with the larger Jaws. I now have no problems holding to 31" Wall Platter. Thank you very much for the excellent quality of the items supplied . Doc.TA

I was switching from a very old 1MT lathe to a new(er) Rikon 70-050VS so I puchased the reducer so I could continue using the older 1MT centers while I bought newer 2MT replacements. Upon inserting the reducer I found that it bottomed out in the headstock before making proper contact around the collar, but this was easily corrected by cutting 7/8" off the bottom (most of the black part). After that it worked perfectly. This issue probably only exists with specific smaller lathes.

This has made my life very easy as I do not need the tools now to change the chucks. I have only five chucks but some time I have more than one project at any one time and I do not like to remove the items without the chuck until it is finished and it used to be a struggle now I can unlock the chucks by hand only it a must if you need to change items frequently. It is solid and easy to fit with a resistance to dust. All machines should have them as standard.
